XLT
The base model is unlike any base model you've seen before as it comes standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360â„¢ driver-assist suite, which includes Pre-Collision Assist and Blind Spot Information System. Other standard features include tri-zone automatic temp control, remote start, power-folding second-row seats, and a WiFi hotspot for internet connection on the go.
Limited
The Limited trim adds a range of exterior cosmetic upgrades while also having stylish leather seats. For feature upgrades, the Explorer Limited trim adds a heated steering wheel and heated rear outboard seats for comfort as well as the Terrain Management System, hands-free liftgate, and a premium audio system. Plus, it makes available the twin-panel moonroof.
Explorer ST
We touched on this trim in the performance section above, and we mentioned that it's one of the most thrilling mid-size SUVs on the road today. It has a beastly engine with 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, unique ST badging, standard four-wheel drive, paddle shifters, and a sport-tuned suspension. Of course, it's still comfortable with all the brilliant features and technologies that you'll find in the Limited trim.
Platinum
The top of the Ford Explorer's trim levels, the Platinum doesn't have the sport-focused feel of the ST, but it is still plenty capable. It also makes standard a range of terrific features sure to improve your driving experience. These range from massaging front seats to the moonroof to a 10.1-inch touchscreen display to perforated leather seats. In short, the Ford Explorer Platinum has all you could ever want from a mid-size SUV..
Design
The 2020 Ford Explorer sheds weight while becoming stronger thanks to the advanced engineering and materials it uses. It has a sleeker look than past years while keeping the bold presence and providing more space in each of its three rows. All seven passengers of the Ford Explorer will also enjoy quieter rides thanks to the frame materials, and there are all sorts of comfortable seat options, from cloth to leather to microsuede!
Performance
The 2020 Ford Explorer has a rear-wheel design while still offering four-wheel drive. Using the rear wheels makes the new Explorer even sportier while making sure that it remains comfortable and capable. It has an all-new Ford EcoBoost engine, which helps improve the 2020 Ford Explorer's max towing capacity to 5,600 pounds, and there's even a Ford Explorer Hybrid near Little Falls for those wanting a green mid-size SUV. Plus, the Ford Explorer ST takes performance to the next level with a 400-horsepower engine.
Safety
The 2019 Ford Explorer was already a brilliant SUV, but the 2020 Explorer has even more to offer with its technologies. It upgrades systems such as blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, which we know many Fairfield, NJ Ford Explorer drivers love, while adding Reverse Brake Assist and Active Park Assist 2.0. Parents will love those safety features with many of them coming standard, but the 2020 Explorer doesn't stop there as it also introduces USB Type-C outlets and a new Terrain Management System!
