2018 Ford Fusion Car Review

When it comes to mid-sized sedans, the Ford Fusion is kind of an understated entry, not trying to boldly make a name as a sporty competitor, but quietly offering the best options in terms of comfort, outstanding technology, reliability and superior driving performance. Drivers across Paterson, Clifton, Montclair and the whole Wayne Township region appreciate what it has to offer.

Every new model year brings new expectations to the table, and many people wonder what to expect from the Ford Fusion this coming year. Discover what to expect from the 2018 Ford Fusion in this new car review!

2018 Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion doesn't include much in the way of changes this year, but that's not a bad thing. The midsize sedan class is highly competitive, and the understated Fusion continues to compete strongly across the class. It already offers superior comfort, a dynamic driving experience and great technology options.

The new Fusion may not contain many changes, but that's because it doesn't need them. There's something for just about everyone in this sedan.

Features, Technology and Options

The new Ford Fusion has five trim levels from which to choose. The base level is the S, which is followed by the SE, the Titanium, the Platinum and the V6 Sport level. Hybrid options are available. At the base level, you get LED taillights, automatic headlights, cruise control, rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, voice commands via Ford Sync for audio and phone, smartphone app integration, and a sound system featuring four speakers with 4.2-inch screen, auxiliary jack, USB port and CD player.

At higher levels you get LED daytime running lights, keypad entry, power adjust front seats (8 way driver and 6-way passenger), and upgraded six-speaker audio with satellite radio. You can also opt for even higher level tech with auto dim heated mirrors, automatic start-stop engine, driver memory settings, heated seats, Sync 3 technology interface via an 8-inch touchscreen and more.

A Range of Engine Options

If you opt for the V6 Sport Package, you get an upgraded engine which gives you 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, plus all-wheel drive. Other engine options include the base 2.5-liter 4-cylinder which delivers 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft torque, the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine at 181 horsepower and 185 lb-ft, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter which puts out 240 horsepower and 270 lb ft of torque.

Few other sedans in this sector offer the same range of engine choices as the Fusion, making it highly customizable to meet a wide variety of driving needs.

Interior and Comfort

The interior touches and comfort levels of the Ford Fusion can't be beat. It offers a supremely smooth and quiet ride with plenty of room and highly supportive seats. Whether you're heading to the store or work, or taking a road trip, you'll be plenty comfortable. The interior touches are high-quality, and the Ford Sync 3 interface very intuitive and easy to use.
